The Philippines and Kuwait have agreed on sending home some 250 overstaying Filipinos in order to rid the latter of a huge number of illegal aliens.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) stated that the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait successfully sent home a total of 95 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to Manila last month. They expect to repatriate 155 more Filipinos this September.
The second batch of repatriated Filipinos include five medically ill patients, 100 workers without valid visas, and 50 workers with no passports but have valid residency status.
The embassy said some of the OFWs were in tears while others were glad upon reuniting with their families.
