The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has warned Filipino nurses and healthcare professionals to disregard e-mails that offer employment in big hospitals in Canada and in other countries.
POEA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac said to search the POEA Web site or the POEA phone app instead.
Said e-mail informs the recipient they have been selected for a nursing position in a hospital without even submitting an application. The applicants are then instructed to pay a P3,750 registration fee for a “mandatory orientation seminar.”
The POEA said both agencies and hospitals cited in the e-mails have denied involvement in said recruitment. They said they do not recruit through e-mail, nor do they ask applicants to undergo orientation seminars for a fee.
