Hong Kong – An OFW was rescued from her employer after a video went viral on Facebook over alleged maltreatment of her employer.
In the video,Chona Sison expressed her dismay regarding the harsh treatment of her employer to her. The 8 minute video got a dashing 1 million views on Facebook and still growing.
The said video got the attention of the Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong. Through the help of Assistance to Nationals (ATN) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Hong Kong, they were able to track the residence of Chona’s employer. The group called for the police assistance.

The main goal was to check the exact condition of Chona basing from the Facebook post she had.
Chona’s employer went out to talk to the police officers regarding the condition of Chona. The group just stayed outside the building and waited for Chona to come out. Eventually, after waiting for a while, the OFW went out and asked for help so she can go home in the Philippines.
Chona is now in the care of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office since December 3. She is also undergoing counseling before sending her to the Philippines.
