An OFW was about to go home in Iloilo last Saturday morning to visit her relatives in the Philippines but she wasn’t able to do so after she lost her wallet in NAIA terminal 3.
A certain Ann Margareth Anthony was totally dismayed after learning that her wallet and cash was lost after it went through the X-ray machine at NAIA.
According to the victim, she went to the gate 1 of the departure area at NAIA 3, about 8 in the morning. She was then carrying a handbag and a luggage. Before entering her handbag in the X-ray machine, she got her wallet to secure the coins in her pocket then returned the wallet in her handbag.
The victim started to become curious why her bags are delayed. From gate 1 of NAIA, she went directly to the ticketing area of an airline to rebook her flight. But just as she was about to pay for her ticket, she was totally shocked after knowing that her wallet was lost. Her wallet which has a price of P40, 000, cash amounting to P98, 000, credit and debit cards were all lost.
She went back to the X-ray area and checked the CCTV but only saw one side of the video. The moment wherein she went to X-ray machine then to the ticketing area was not capture.
According to the security office, the 4 CCTV’s in the area are not functioning. But they weren’t able to explain why the CCTV’s are not functioning. Ann was totally puzzled with the non-functioning CCTV’s especially since it is an international airport.
In the statement released by MIAA, Ann didn’t brought a handbag when she entered the airport. But with the CCTV copy that Ann got, she eventually carried a handbag.
She poured her anger to the government stating that she’s now afraid to travel again carrying luggage because of what happened to her. Ann is planning to forward the case to the NBI to properly address the issue.
