Philippine Airlines (PAL) issued a statement after top model Karlie Kloss criticized the airline when she missed her flight after she came late to the check-in counter at JFK International Airport.
PAL’s statement said check-in counters close an hour before the estimated time of departure. Counters closed at 11:15p.m. for the 12:15a.m. flight, but Kloss arrived at 11:40p.m.
Kloss criticized the airline on her Snapchat and Twitter accounts, saying, they had the worst customer service of all time. PAL apologized to her on Twitter, and she sent them a private message. PAL said they are talking with Kloss to help her refund her ticket and rebook her flight to Vancouver.
The incident drew mixed reactions from netizens. While others have related to Kloss’ experience, other netizens criticized PAL for giving Kloss special treatment, even though she is at fault.
Kloss went straight to the airport from the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards where she was a presenter.
