The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) is launching a campaign for employment opportunities abroad.
In an interview with Admin. Hans Leo Cacdac, POEA will have a pre-employment orientation seminar (PEOS) for those who wish to work in another country.
The program aims to provide information to Filipinos on the positive and negative realities of working abroad. The PEOS is done online to make easier the search for opportunities abroad.
Cacdac says the online PEOS is accessible to anyone, 24/7, as long as they have Internet access in their smart phones, tablets, in the Internet shop, and in POEA offices.
The program is open to all Filipinos interested in working abroad. They will also learn how to avoid illegal recruitment agencies.
According to Cacdac, the program will also measure the readiness of a person to work abroad, which includes the readiness to leave their family behind, financial capacity, emotional preparedness, and the willingness to adjust to new culture and climate.
The program will consist of eight modules with a short exam at the end of each module. The would-be OFW will also have an Electronic Certification upon completion of the program.
