Leila is an OFW working as a household worker in Kuwait who also got victimized by Mia Buenavidez visa scam.
Leila immediately went to the Middle East Bureau to seek legal help after seeing the news regarding other alleged victims of Buenavidez.
According to Leila, Buenavidez asked KD 1,200 for the transfer of her residents’ visa. Even Noreen, a teacher, got victimized by the same scam and paid KD 510 for her visa. According to the victim, they later found out that Buenavidez is involved in this scam for quite a while already and was just publicized after Pinoy nurses went out to seek justice in the POEA office.
Her modus is to offer the nurses from the Philippines a decent work to the Ministry of Health in Kuwait. Just this week, Buenavidez was summoned for an appearance at the Philippine Embassy to hear her side of the story. Unfortunately, she didn’t went for the appearance at the Embassy so authorities went to her office to talk to her personally.
Buenavidez denied all the issue. According to her, their company weren’t recruiting any nurses direct to Emirates. Buenavidez also added that she is not hiding from anyone. Her company is open to address all the issues to immediately clear their company name.
Despite her statement, the Anti-Illegal Group of POEA is investigating the case to resolve it as soon as possible.
