The Philippines is currently under ‘war against drugs’ but it seems like Filipinos in Alberta Bow Valley is overusing crystal meth, also known as shabu, to make them work for much longer hours.
According to the Royal Canadian Police, these Filipinos were working approximately 14 to 18 hours per day for 2 to 3 jobs. These information was reported by several clients and that they are facing barriers when seeking help.
Law enforcers haven’t look through it but they are already hearing discussions regarding shabu abuses.
Filipino from Canada Ericson Dixon said that throughout his three and a half years of stay in the country, he was clueless regarding the said issue. He also added that professionals who wanted to catch up and use this illegal drugs is not helping themselves, instead, they are destroying it.
