Ann Marie finished Computer Science and Accounting but in the age of 44, she is still studying Professional Caregiving. According to her, she considers caregiving a greener pasture and better opportunities in the future. Also, from tourism, Joshua shifted from Tourism to Caregiving because he wanted to work abroad.
They are just few individuals who were undergoing intensive trainings to take care of patients from bed making, assisting physically handicapped people, and even cleaning private parts of patients.
According to Dr. Alex Perez, Faculty of St. Augustine School of Nursing, taking care of patient is not filthy. They are also teaching their students how to properly wash clothes and clean the house.

TESDA believes that there’s a huge opportunity awaiting those qualified Filipino Caregivers outside the country in the coming years.
Possibly, more opportunities will open up because of the current proposal of the Japan Government to allow private sectors to recruit caregivers.
POEA is also waiting for the incoming pilot project that will give opportunities to a small number of OFWs for the meantime as housekeepers with a monthly salary of P25,000 ($544) every month.

Currently, a total of 48 nurses and 585 caregivers were given the opportunity to travel to Japan.
