Horror stories of OFWs being abused in other countries continue to hunt those who wants to venture the life abroad. But this story is rather a very inspiring one!
Felicidad Muna Mico had to leave her family in the Philippines to help in their financial stability. She worked as a domestic helper for 25 years to Singaporean family of Madam Dora.
As years progress, Mico’s health gradually weakened. She suffered haemorrhagic stroke and was sent to the ICU for one week. The event seems like a turn of faith to the Filipina breadwinner. But still, blessings poured her amidst the unfortunate event.
Instead of abandoning their long time domestic helper, Madam Dora and her family personally took care of Mico in the hospital. The children of Madam Dora are now old enough to take care of their nanny.
For many years, Mico was the one who served Madam Dora and her family but now, they help nurse the semi-paralyzed body of their nanny. Not just that, Madam Dora also paid for the hospital bills amounting to $55,000, raised money for the plane ticket and rehabilitation of Mico in the Philippines.
Mico is earning $600 per month as a domestic helper.
