Just in five weeks’ time, fourteen deaths of OFWs were reported in Hong Kong. The Philippine Consulate General reminds Filipinos to take extra care of their wellbeing. Details of these deaths were reported by family and friends of deceased individuals to the Philippine Consulate General.
Starting from November 1 until December 9, there are a total of 14 reported deaths. 12 out of 14 were of natural death, one fell from a construction site he is working while the other one hastily committed suicide.
Diseases that caused the natural death of these OFWs include heart disease, breast cancer, leukemia, pneumonia, kidney failure, and liver problem. 9 out of 14 were females and the other five were males.
The PCG also reminds all Filipinos to take extra precaution with their health and their workplace. Their office also promotes health programs and forums which are very helpful to everyone.
