For Filipinos wanting to end their marriage legal, NOW is the time to so do! Why?
A directive order was issued by the Office of the Solicitor General to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, which states that opposing any kinds of annulment petition should be refrained.
Aside from annulment, which cost much higher, nullity of marriage and legal separation serves a fair deal to legally untangle marriages.
Grounds for declaration of nullity of marriage:
- During the time of marriage, one party was still in a minor age.
- The solemnization of marriage was done by unauthorized persons.
- No valid marriage license.
- Bigamous marriage.
- Identity mistake to either party.
- Subsequent marriages.
- Incestuous marriage.
- Non-recording of any requirement.
Grounds for annulment:
- Psychological incapacity
Counter Petition To Oppose Petition For Annulment:
- Antecedent
- Gravity
- Incurability
If one party files for annulment, the only grounds, psychological incapacity, should be grave and has existed even before the marriage. It also needs to be incurable, so basically, you need a doctor when applying for the petition.

The last option is a legal separation. Here, the philandering spouse is not allowed from getting married, though their assets are split into two. This is mostly preferred by Overseas Filipino Workers who wants to take avenge against cheating husband/wife.
