Would you believe that anywhere around the world, you will see Filipinos? That is definitely true! Even in the Canadian Arctic, a Filipina was peacefully living her life despite the super cold weather.
The life story of Rhose Harris Galia inspired a lot people as it got into the public through a Canadian news website.
Galia is not living in some of the most famous places in Canada but instead in a less known city called Iqaluit city, in the province of Nunnavut. It is also called as Canadian Arctic. She is with her husband and two lovely kids.

The city’s temperature falls up to 8 degrees Celsius and its distance from the city of Toronto is 700 kilometers more than the distance of Batanes to Sulu which is about 1,612 kilometers. Who have thought that despite the cold and distance to the civilization, some happy family is living peaceful there!
Galia moved to Canada from the Philippines last 1999. She first worked in Edmonton as a nanny but was later on offered a favourable work she thought was in Banff, a picturesque resort. She then realized that it was not Banff but Baffin Island.
She started to adjust to her new location which now has 200 Filipino immigrants from the previous 15 Filipino immigrants.
According to Galia, despite the cold weather, the burning happiness in their hearts offer nothing but fulfilment. They came to live in a place where tranquillity prevails.
