Bullet Scam – it was one of the most terrorizing event in Ninoy Aquino International Airport. OFWs are mostly the victim. However, as Rodrigo Duterte takes over the highest position in the Philippines, the bullet scam was seemingly lost in thin air. Until last February 20.
A couple bound for United States was barred from leaving the country after a bullet was found in their luggage upon the security check at NAIA.
Just as their luggage went through the x-ray machine, a caliber .22 was found by security personnel. Cesar Caranto and Marlyn Caranto denied that they owned the bullet and even accused the OTS personnel that they are delaying them from their flight.
A manual inspection was conducted and a bullet was found sewed properly in the bag’s compartment.
After the bullet was confirmed, Marlyn admitted into owning it. It was just used an amulet and she forgot to take it out from her bag. According to Marlyn, the bullet was used as bird-hunting but now serves as an amulet.
The incident was recorded and the Carantos were allowed to go to their destination. On the other hand, the bullet was handed to the PNP-aviation security group.
