8 medical clinics that are currently accredited by Kuwait’s Ministry of Health through Winston Q8 Certifications Solutions agency have been ordered for closure by the Department of Health (DOH).
Last March 9 a preventive suspension order was issued by DOH against these 8 clinics, this was in reference to a Congressional resolution which stated that there was a concession between Winston Q8 Certifications Solution and Mawared Services, the issuing agency of Visas for Kuwait.
The latter allegedly received medical certificates solely from Winston Q8 Certification Solutions.
According to the Department of Health the practice was unlawful and quoted “no group or groups of medical clinics shall have a monopoly of exclusively conducting health examinations on migrant workers for certain receiving countries.”
Spokesperson Dr. Eric Tayag added.
In addition Dr. Tayag said that the suspended clinics are still required to release their clients (OFWs) medical certificates.
As a result of this suspension, about 800 Overseas Filipino Workers were affected.via GMA News
