Approximately 77,000 workers are highly need in Qatar nowadays. Though it is open to all nationals, the Philippine Overseas Employment Authority is sure enough that most of these slots will be filled by Filipino workers.
Every day, hundreds of Filipinos line up in POEA offices hoping to get a job abroad. Now, these hopefuls can finally fulfill their dreams as there are about 77,000 jobs offered in Qatar.
This huge job opportunity is due to the FIFA World Cup which will be held in Qatar this coming 2022. Currently, Qatar is undergoing road, hotels and railway constructions.
They are in need of construction workers, pipefitters, welders, electricians and many more. Average starting pay ranges from $450-$500 or approximately P22,000 to P24,800. Aside from the previously mentioned job openings, they also need highly skilled workers such as engineers and architects with a starting pay of $1,200 or P60,000.
“Depende pa yun kung marami silang experience and trainings, mas lalaki pa yung sweldo nila,” said Deputy Administration of OWWA Jocelyn Sanchez.
These job vacancies are open to all nationals, but POEA sees that these job openings will be filled with Filipino workers, based on the previous deployment in Qatar.
Yesterday, there are about 138 OFWs repatriated from Saudi Arabia mainly because of the crisis in the Middle East. Another 6,000 OFWs needs repatriation back to the Philippines and they are the priority for this job opening in Qatar.
So they won’t get victimized by illegal recruiters, POEA advises the public to check for approved job orders in their official site.
