In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the employer sponsored the entire wedding of her housemaid. The Saudi woman shouldered all the expenses of the entire wedding and their honeymoon as well. The housemaid’s friends were invited in her wedding.
The couple, both were Asians, according to Saudi Gazette couldn’t help but cry and feel thankful for her kind-hearted employer.
The wedding instantly gained the attention of netizens as some of their guests post videos and images in their social media accounts. Zahra Al-Muabi, one of the guests, posted video clips of the wedding in her Snapchat account.
Netizens couldn’t help but be amazed by the act of kindness that the employer has given to her housemaid. This thing is not normally seen online as most of the news were focused on the abuses of employers towards their housemaid.
“It is not uncommon for Saudi women to celebrate with their maids. Many of us are very warm and welcoming. However, the Saudi woman that sponsored the wedding deserves the praise she is receiving,” said Umm Sultan.
Despite the rising incident of abuses between maids and employers, the wedding proves that those horrific stories does not reflect the overall Saudi society. There are still kind employers out there willing to help their housemaid in any possible way.
