Sri Lankan boyfriend was allegedly spreading nude photos of her Filipina girlfriend, who later asked the help of the Philippine National Police.
According to GMA News, Melissa, who works as a factory worker met Dharsana Kodithu-Wakku, 43, through social media. After one month of intimate conversations, they started to exchange private photos.
Araw-araw, nagche-change kami ng mga message,” the Filipina said.
After two months of becoming a couple, Wakku changed behavior. He became totally protective and paranoid.
Kasi kung anu-ano iniisip niya,” Melissa said.
Melissa decided to end their short relationship, enraging Wakku. He later decided to threaten Melissa into releasing her private photos.
Supt. Jay Guillermo, PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group spokesperson, said that the case is under their jurisdiction because of the involvement of a Filipina. They are also willing to coordinate with the International police to resolve the case.
“Ang jurisdiction kasi ng pag-iimbestiga ng Cybercrime it’s either yung victim o kaya yung suspect ay nasa Pilipinas, so puede nating imbestigahan yan,” Guillermo said.
Moreover, he advised the public to never send private photos to anyone especially if they only met the person through social media.
