One of the main purpose, why OFWs stand the loneliness and homesickness for being away with their families while working in another country, is to be able to provide and invest for their loved-ones. And nothing would be more painful than to see their efforts put into waste.
Such as the concern of a certain Marivic Tabe, also an OFW who posted on her Facebook account stating an incident where the package sent home by an OFW for her loved-one was opened and was found incomplete.

According to her, the package was sent to the Philippines from Japan through EMS (Express Mail Service). When the package reached the Philippines in Cabanatuan City as its destination, the package was opened and allegedly, important things inside the box were missing. The items missing, however, were not specified.

Another sad thing, as it was originally and nicely sealed by the courier when the package was released in Japan, it arrived in the Philippines sealed with a gum tape.
Tabe posted this to call the attention of authorities particularly the government officials and concerned government agencies to heed her call for the protection of packages sent home by overseas workers to their families and loved-ones as a fruit of their hard work and labor.
Enduring the hardships of spending days apart from family and working long hours in a day, our fellow kababayans deserve to enjoy the luxury of life through their investments whether monetary or in form of materials.
May they also get their fair share of respect not only as humans but also with the packages that they send to their families as these boxes represent their love for their families.
Tabe hopes that her post is shared by the concerned public until it reaches the attention of government authorities who would be able to give justice to this.
