Nowadays, saving money seems to be the hardest thing to do. But with this inspiring story of Cherry Ann Mae Dichoso, you might want to do the same.
Dichoso took to Facebook how she managed to save PhP14,600.00 out of the PhP50 that gets in her hand. The challenge went through for 5 months.
She also explained that she is not trying to get famous or attract the attention of others with her post. Instead, what she wants is to inspire the youth and young adults like her to start saving even just a small amount.
“Before I start, my intention here is pure. Di ako nag papapeymut sa post ko na ‘to. I’m “not here to brag but to inspire” young adults like me or kahit sino na gusto din makaipon sa simpleng paraan. And I’m not even promoting liquors, nag hanap lang po ako ng alternative alikansya, recycle and reuse kumbaga,” says Dichoso.
Dichoso got inspired in the same Facebook post 5 months ago. Because of that post, she thought of doing the same as she is the kind of person who spends money unwisely.
“5 months ago, may nakita akong post dito sa Facebook same ng ganto, na inspire ako na baka pwede ko gayahin, baka maging effective, baka mangyari din sakin. Magastos kase ako, kahit hindi dapat,” she further added.
She also admitted that the challenge is especially tough for her in the first two months.
“First two months, nag cheat pa ako hahaha. Ang hirap din naman kase na wag gastusin lahat ng mahahawakan mo na 50, for example bumili ako sa dunkin ng almond iced coffee large, worth 65 peso yun and fav ko yun. Hahaha okay balik tayo, so if ganun tapos nag bayad ako ng 500 tapos sukli sakin 435 pesos then 200 pesos dun tag 50 pesos, bawal ko na gastusin yun, kumbaga invisible na sya, worthless na ganun. At the end of the day isusksok ko na sya sa bote. Tapos yung natira titipidin ko na yun,” says Dichoso.
Even her friends started to get confused why she constantly rolls every PhP50 that gets in her hand.
When asked if she wants to do the challenge again. She definitely said ‘Yes’, stating that it’s so good to save especially if you exerted much effort throughout the process.
Dichoso also thanked God for the work that she have and the boss that she’s working with,
“Thankful din ako kay God kase ang ganda ng work ko tapos the best pa mga boss ko. They’re truly indeed a blessing to me,” says Dichoso.
She also thinks that a buddy who will remind you to save the PhP50 will double the fun.
“To be honest mas magiging masaya to if meron kang buddy na remind ka na wag gastusin yung 50, tag your petmalu frenny na gawin nyo din to! Malay mo diba? Malagpasan nyo pa, edi mas maganda,” says Dichoso.
To those people who are doing the same thing, she wishes them good luck.
Dichoso ended her post saying that she is planning to buy something out of the money she saved.
