Instead of smiles, tears shed as these OFWs from Kuwait went home to their relatives in General Santos City. Money, gadgets and gifts for their family were stolen from them.
According to the OFWs, they just arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. They met the suspect known only as Gabriel Ruth.
Because they have the same flight the next morning, the suspect invited them to check in a hotel at Pasay City so they can rest for a while.
“Siya yung nag suggest na maghanap kami ng hotel na ma afford naming para mag check in nalang kami,” says one of the victim.
When they reached the hotel, they thought of going to a mall in Pasay to get some food. Before they went out, the suspect suggested to leave their mobile phones and money.
They trusted the woman whom they just met because the suspect also left her cellphone in the hotel. When they reached the mall, the suspect gave them money so they can order some food. Just then, the suspect bid goodbye, saying that she want to withdraw some money.
Kinabahan na kami,” says the victim.
When they came back to the hotel, they found out that the suspect took their cash money, 9 mobile phones, perfumes, chocolates, and other things.
In the CCTV video taken at the hotel in Pasay City where they stayed, the suspect can be seen escaping with the things she stolen. It can also be seen that hotel attendees even helped her bring other bags whom they thought is hers.
Tapos yun lang,” says one of the victim.
Follow up operations is still undergoing to arrest the suspect.
