Almost 1,000 people from the National Capital region (NCR) came during the 2-day enrolment for free training as offered by TESDA.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is included in the 50,000 TVET scholarship that the agency had been offering.
The 2-day enrolment seeks to encourage job seekers and Overseas Filipino Workers to avail of their free training.

Among the attendees, OFW JulietoPalaca who had been working for 11 years in the Middle East enrolled in TESDA’s mechatronics course. He returned to the Philippines in 2012 and still plans towork abroad.
As such, there are many courses that TESDA is offering which will really be a big help to those who would like to work abroad and for existing OFWs to equip themselves with more knowledge, learning and skills.
They can also take Competency Assessment and Certification for Workers to be able to land on better job positions abroad.
In the Philippines, job applicants who attended TESDA’s trainings seem to be able to find work easier and faster than the others.
Meanwhile, applications and enrolment for TESDA’s TVET scholarship is still on-going in all of their branches. Applicants should be 18 years of age and above.
For OFWs who wish to apply for assessment in order to acquire a national certificate, a certificate of employment from their employer is required as a proof of their experience.
