On Friday, the Embassy of South Korea released a list of 35 accredited travel agencies which are allowed to process Korean visas as an assistant to the increasing number of visa applications. This is also a systematic way to lessen the waiting time of each applicant who sometimes needs to wait 2 hours under the humid weather, making it very inconvenient for each of them.
Based on their records, the applications increased from 90,000 in 2015 to 120,000 in 2016 and 160,000 in 2017.
Applicants are then reminded to be extra careful in applying for Korean visa as other people are taking advantage of the need to apply for a visa, especially those who are the first time to travel abroad.
For everyone’s reference, their website posted this list of authorized travel agencies which will process Korean visas starting July 1.
Effective July 1, 2018, walk-in applications for temporary visitor’s visa will no longer be entertained.
However, walk-in applicants who are spouses and children of Koreans, holders of visa issuance number, government employees under official business trip and those with the urgent need to travel to Korea for humanitarian reasons, will be accepted.
