A Filipina in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates lost her life in a road accident on Thursday.
According to Gulf News, the 34-year-old woman stepped out of her car to check the tires that had burst, as confirmed by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila.
The victim, who works as a sales executive, met an accident at the Dubai-Al Ain road while the driver who struck her is already in police custody.
The woman hails from Abra, Philippines, said the DFA who extended their heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family.

Hjayceelyn Quintana, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE spoke to the cousin of the deceased and conveyed the embassy’s condolences.
Furthermore, she also made sure that they will provide all the necessary assistance to repatriate her remains and help with the ongoing case after the tragic incident.
Vice Consul Von Ryan Pangwi refused to reveal the identity of the OFW to protect her family and for privacy purposes but made sure that the woman is legally staying in UAE as she was working in Dubai.
“We cannot release any more information as of now, as the case is under police investigation. We have advised the victim’s cousin to come to the embassy on Sunday so we can provide the assistance necessary to repatriate the victim’s remains. We will also provide legal assistance should the family need it,” says Pangwi.
