As it turns out, not all Filipinos abroad get bad treatment from their employers. Some suffer from the hands of their fellow Kababayan.
Just recently, devastating news broke the internet. An Overseas Filipino Worker was pronounced expired following a brawl with a fellow Filipino in Saudi Arabia.
The victim was named as MonicoBasco Manansala, a native of Sasmuan, Pampanga. He worked for RimalAlswahel Co. as a subcontractor worker.
Meanwhile, the identity of the Filipino who took his life remains hidden from the public as the investigation is still underway.
“The 2 allegedly engaged in a fistfight that ended with the victim getting fatally stabbed by his fellow OFW,” says AbdulhalimLangco, Assistance to Nationals Unit Officer at the Philippine Embassy.
Government agencies such as the Philippine Embassy as well as the Philippine Overseas Labor Office promised to extend their support to the grieving family of the victim.
It can be recalled that the incident is already the third one that involves OFWs in Saudi Arabia.
Last September 26, an OFW got terminated at work but later on inflicted wounds towards his manager and another co-worker. The incident happened at Farasan Island, Saudi Arabia.
Last Oct 2, a Filipino took the life of another Filipino in front of the house of their employer in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
