An ex-Overseas Filipino Worker is asking for help after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
LigayaVillara went to work in Oman since 2015. Supposed to be, her contract was due in 2017 but her employer refused to send her home without any replacement.
Villar is a victim of contract substitution, served different employers, lack of sleep (as much as three hours of sleep only) and starvation. January 2019 when Villar got into an accident after her ward stepped on her clothes prompting her to fall to the ground.
After more than a year, her employer was forced to send her home fearing that Villar’s mother will report the incident to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). When the OFW went home, she was sent to the hospital. They visited a number of hospitals because they don’t have money for her medical expenses.
Villarhas undergone biopsy and it was found out that she has lung cancer, something that she couldn’t believe especially because she is not smoking cigarettes. She had to undergo chemotherapy as soon as possible but couldn’t do so because of financial incapability.
Though she already has a stage 4 lung cancer, Villarstill has hopes in life considering that her mother and common-law husband are helping her. Additionally, despite being an inactive OWWA member, they are still helping Villar on her medicines and also gave her a wheelchair.
For those who are willing to help the OFW, you can directly contact her common-law husband LirickNabinagnapSelaznog.
