A Filipino domestic helper lost her life to a suspected heart attack in Hong Kong, yesterday, September 1.
According to Hong Kong News, the 32-year-old Filipina was taken to Pok Oi Hospital after falling unconscious. Unfortunately, doctors failed to revive her.
“She was taken there unconscious and was later certified as expired. The initial investigation showed that there was nothing suspicious about her demise,” says the spokesperson.
The spokesperson also claims that the friend of the Filipina called the local authorities around 12: 05 in the afternoon as the worker stayed at a clinic at 218-230 Castle Peak Road.
“The (worker) collapsed and so her friend called the police. Emergency response personnel arrived and brought her to the hospital,” said the police. “She had a record of physical illness.”
Despite the low chance of foul play over her passing, an autopsy will still be conducted to further determine the cause of the OFW’s demise.
The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) already received the report regarding the case and prepares to provide the necessary assistance to the family of the deceased. Her remains are also being prepared for the repatriation back to the Philippines.
Just last month, two other Filipina domestic helpers in Hong Kong passed away due to apparent heart disease.
