Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Economic in Abu Dhabi decided to limit the movements of workers to only within the areas of Al Dhafra, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi. The move is part of the ongoing precautionary measure of the Emirate to fight the spread of COVID-19 in the UAE.
Furthermore, they will also be preventing the entry of working from other emirates.
“@AbuDhabiDED has taken further precautionary and preventative measures to protect the health and safety of workers from the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), reducing the likelihood of infection,” says a tweet from posted on the Twitter page of Abu Dhabi Media Office, adding that other emirates can no longer send their workers in Abu Dhabi.
“Companies are no longer permitted to send workers out of Abu Dhabi and must limit their travel to within Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. The Department’s measures also prevent the entry of workers from other emirates into Abu Dhabi,” says in a statement.
The tightening measure of the emirate is due to the growing number of COVID-19 cases throughout the entire UAE. As of April 14, the total number of infected individuals reached to 4,521, out of this 852 have fully recovered.
