The family of a Filipina in Paris who died due to COVID-19 has an appeal to the public.
PARIS – Filipina KhenskyCarandangCordenete, 33, from Candelaria, Quezon died due to COVID-19 while in Paris. She orphaned her 8-month-old baby, husband and family members who are all in Paris.
The OFW was quarantined for 10 days at the PitieSalpetriere Paris 13 Hospital before she died on April 5. According to her husband, Khensky often stays at home before she started to have COVID-19 symptoms. The only place she goes to is an open market near their place.
On the day of the cremation, April 10, her family was emotional while appealing to the public.
Before the cremation of the OFW, a prayer was offered to her through a holy mass at the Eglise Saint-Yves La Cournueve, 20 kilometers away from Paris.
Because COVID-19 took her life, social distancing was strictly implemented. Only 20 people were allowed to join the funeral and her ashes were only given to the family after the cremation.
Mag-ingat po tayong lahat,” says Baby Carandang, mother of the OFW.
The remains of the Filipina was taken to the Cimetiere Inter-Communal de La Cournueve, 25 kilometers from Paris.
