An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) committed suicide in the early morning of April 26, according to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
According to reports, the 42-year-old OFW was about to end her 14 days quarantine period inside a lodging house provided by OWWA when she took her own life.
The OFW went into quarantine on April 2, 2020, upon her arrival from Kuwait. Authorities found out that the victim was a native of Demapaco, Libungan, Cotabato.
According to the assessment of SOCO, there was no known foul play and her remains will be flown to her hometown through the help of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The OFW was identified as Algen Cadungog or Algen Manos, she was found hanging using a fabric scarf tied around her neck underneath a stairway at Liza Lodge in Cuneta Avenue, a quarantine facility for OFWs.
Edna Maturan and Noemi Gorospe were witnesses who confirmed that they were repatriated from Kuwait. The two Filipina discovered the remains of Algen and later confirmed that she attempted to take her own life while in Kuwait but did not succeed.

But police investigators see severe depression as the cause of the OFWs drastic actions of taking her own life. Algen was last seen alive around 4 a.m. with noticeable anxiety.
