An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) has a shoutout to all Filipinos who have relatives and family members working abroad after experiencing a tragic incident.
Facebook user and OFW Amurao Reyes Lee shared on a post that she is heartbroken upon learning about the passing of her friend who also works abroad.
According to Lee, her friend was a happy person and often posts TikTok videos on her social media account. Her family in the Philippines was waiting for her to return, especially her child who’s been very eager to see her again.
But one day, the OFW fell into a coma and suddenly died. This is very heartbreaking because her family in the Philippines are all waiting for her only to end up dying in another country. She left them alive but returned to the Philippines already inside the cold coffin.
Because of the said sudden incident, Lee reminded other families of OFWs to always check on them and not just when you ask for remittance or balikbayan box. Even a simple “take care” matters so much to them.
Furthermore, Lee confessed that it is very hard to live and work abroad. You have to endure a lot, including the changing weather, the foreign people around you and it’s customs and traditions. All of these factors take a toll on them but they choose to endure just so they can provide the needs of their families in the Philippines.
