An “unhappy” Filipina domestic helper in Hong Kong fell to her death from her employer’s apartment on Wednesday, July 29.
A passerby at Yaumatei Street saw the body of the Filipina right below the No.3 Nanking St. She immediately notified the authorities and the 46-year-old Filipina was taken to the nearest Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was declared dead on arrival.
Hong Kong officers didn’t find any suicide notes or any suspicious circumstances surrounding her passing but only found out that the Filipina was “unhappy” prior to the incident.
“So far, the police have gathered that the victim was unhappy about some life matters,” says a police spokesperson.
According to reports, the Filipina hails from Aklan and worked for her employer for almost 12 years. The niece of the victim claims that the OFW is worried about “something” for two weeks already. The Filipina even managed to arrange a meeting with another relative who also works in Hong Kong to talk about the problem.
“Hindi lang po namin alam bakit nauwi sa ganun. Dahil makikipagkita pa po dapat sa Linggo ang tita ko sa pinsan niya diyan sa Hong Kong,” says the niece of the Filipina.
Moreover, the Filipina also complained that her employer tracks her activities on Facebook, prompting her to deactivate her account.
The Filipina planned to return to the Philippines this December after completing 12 years of working in Hong Kong.
