Every week, mostly during Sundays, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in Hong Kong are given a rest day by their employers. This is the time when they can be with their friends and loved ones to unwind and destress after a week of work. However, it seems like this group of Filipino workers became more stressed after encountering a fight among their own compatriots.
In a Facebook video that’s been circulating online, a group of Filipino women got involved in a fight because of a very simple problem – a space in a footbridge.
According to the post, the women are claiming the space in a footbridge where they always spend their days off. One OFW even claimed that she had been in Hong Kong for 20 years, the reason why she has more authority in that place.
It all started when a group of women occupied a space in a footbridge, laid their cardboards on the ground, and spent some relaxing time with their friends. Unfortunately, a more stressful incident is about to unfold. Another group of Filipino women approached them and claimed that it was originally their place. It was then that they started to throw hurtful words against each other that even resulted in a physical confrontation.
“Maam pwede ba humingi ng tulong sayo. Kasi yung mga kaibigan ko dito sa Hong Kong binogbug ng mga beterana na dito ng dahil lang sa pwesto sa footbridge,” says a Filipino whose friend got involved in the confrontation.
It is said that the other group did not know that another group of Filipina often sits on that place during their day off.
“At dahil mga baguhan dito sa Hong Kong walang alam. Tapos pinag initan na sila ng grupo at ang sabi pa mga baguhan lang kayo kami 20 years na dito(HK) di nyo kami kilala. Yan ang banta nila. Ok lang naman lumipat kaso pinalilipat sila sa basa at napakainit na bakanteng space,” says the post.
The identities of the people involved remain unknown but their faces are clearly visible in the video. The space they are fighting doesn’t actually belong to any of them, but to the Hong Kong government.

Regarding the issue about the the viral video of an OFW here in Hk,”agawan ng pwesto” which was the insident happen last July 12,2020,the video shown only their side of the story and not the true story ,they should ask the other group their side, just as the police did at that time, both parties was taken their sides ti be fair! The police acted and declared its been done, meaning was been solved, they both agreed to settle the insident, they apologized shake hands and the police ask them to delete videos,,but last week there are videos went viral w/c was.posted in social media and bashed the other group badly, this group went to the police in Central Police Station who handle the case, they told them to file a case against the exposer of the video bcs of an interest, maybe, bcs its been solved and has been case closed, the group went also to Phil.Consulate to clarify their sides and explain, the same thing they told them they can file a complain bcs its their right, bcs they were degraded their personality in public! As of this day,i just want to ask in your office to stop which ever there are videos coming out again about this insident,I am much grateful Admin if you look to consider our plea about this mater! For the information of ervyone po,especiall here in hk community, the group involve in the viral video uploaded and shared by some people who dont know the story and didn’t think to share just to be mapansin as i should say, know the other side of the story first b4 sharing or commenting to degrade their personality of the involve persons, Its been solved and case closed already by the police, shake hands and the police told them to delete the video, but still been uploaded and shared many times, the group went to police and also to Phil.Consulate today to clarify, explain their side of story and the action of the police about the insident, case closed, but they violated the descission of the police, meaning the involve party have the right to file case to the police to those who spread the video!
