Qatar Airways will now be requiring passengers from the Philippines to undergo an RT-PCR test for COVID-19 before check-in, as announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
According to reports, a negative test result of COVID-19 will now be a requirement before travelers from the Philippines can board Qatar Airways. Without the said requirement and a consent form, you will not be allowed to board the aircraft.
Additionally, they will only acknowledge the test result if the testing is done at the airline’s accredited laboratories.
The DFA further said that passengers may check the official website of Qatar Airways for additional information.
Currently, as of September 7, there are already a total of 236,727 numbers of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, with 49,931 active cases. Out of this number, 184,906 have already recovered while 3,890 passed away.
The Department of Health continuously sends a reminder to Filipinos to practice social distancing at all times and wear a mask to protect yourself from COVID-19 and to avoid spreading it to other people. As of the moment, no known cure or vaccine can flatten the curve of infected individuals all over the world or eliminate the virus completely.
