Because working abroad provides a better salary, Filipinos tend to risk going into a foreign land to provide for the financial needs of their family in the Philippines. Thinking less for themselves, they refuse to consider their safety especially domestic workers who are more prone to abuses and maltreatment.
As problems pile up in the midst of the pandemic, the welfare of Filipino domestic workers seems to be neglected. Just like this Filipina who claims to experience maltreatment from her employers.
In a Facebook post, Lem Agui shared his encounter with OFW Christine Jean Antonio whom he met while working abroad.
According to Lem, the Filipina escaped from her employers because they are not feeding her. Christine claims that she is from Mindanao, Philippines, and her agency is Century located at Pedro Gil.
The poor Filipina is in need of immediate help.
