A Filipina domestic worker in Kuwait was successfully rescued after alleged mistreatment by her employer.
Ruby Lyn Cajiben Calawigan is set to return to the Philippines after she was rescued through the help of Patnubay Online, Radyo Bandera-Midsayap, and POLO Kuwait.
The OFW from Midsayap, Cotabato worked as a domestic worker in Kuwait for four years. However, her employer became abusive to her and started hurting the Filipina and taking her mobile phone so she can’t reach for help from her family in the Philippines.
Her mother in the Philippines, identified as Georgina Calawigan, fortunately, knew about the situation of her daughter and asked for help from Radyo Bandera-Midsayap.
Through the help of Joseph Abu Bakr Espiritu of Patnubay Online, an OFW-advocate group in the Middle East, the location of Ruby Lyn was known and she was rescued from her abusive employer.
Currently, Ruby Lyn is in a safe condition under the protection of the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait led by Nasser S. Mustafa.
