Before, it was said that COVID-19 is only deadly to older people. However, it turns out that this isn’t true.
A Dubai-based Filipino couple lost their only son to COVID-19 just 24 hours after they brought him to the hospital.
Roxy and Walter Sibug took the courage to relate their story to the public to raise awareness on the danger of COVID-19 to young people. According to them, their one-year-old son Luther Exekiel succumbed to COVID-19 despite being a healthy child since the beginning.
“My son is completely healthy.
According to Roxy, it was her husband who had a fever first but they never thought that he is positive because he works from home. Later on, their son also got a fever as high as 39 degrees Celcius.
They decided to bring their son to the clinic where the health worker recommended having themselves check for COVID-19. After the test, they were asked to return to their home. The boy took vitamins and medicines which greatly helped to subside his fever. But when the test result came out, it was found out that they are positive for COVID-19.
Their son was intubated and the couple was asked to return home. However, after a few hours, they were informed that the blood pressure of their son was going further down. The doctors tried to revive Luther but were unsuccessful.
Wala syang kasama. Walang kumot doon. Wala kaming magawa,” she further added.
The couple is still positive of COVID-19 and they find it so hard to stay at home, with all the memories of their deceased child.
Grabe yun pain na niraramdaman naming,” Roxy said.
This is the message of Roxy to all parents out there:
