In the midst of the pandemic, a lot of Filipinos are looking for an opportunity to get a job with a higher salary and safe environment. If you are seeking a job with a competitive salary, Malta is the place to go.
Malta is offering €1,000 to €4,000 to Filipinos best fit for the job, according to the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) situated in Rome, Italy.
According to Labor Attaché Haney Lynn Siclot, the government is offering different wages for non-professionals and professionals but there is nothing to worry about since they are strongly protected by the minimum wage of the country.
“Salaries of workers in Malta are competitive, the advantage of Malta compared to Italy is they have labor standards with regards to the minimum salaries. It means that by law they have a minimum salary which is right now would stand at about 760-780 euros per month,” says Labor Attaché Haney Lynn Siclot.
“It’s a good market for those who want, for example, to step into Europe, those who would like to work here in Malta, you can travel not only in Malta, you can also travel to Italy, France, Germany, you can take a vacation in the whole Europe. That is one of the good perks while if you are working in Malta,” she added.
But in Italy, the Labor Attache confirmed that they don’t offer a minimum salary but they are offering an agreement such as collective bargaining agreement of employers and workers.
Malta has become the new favorite destination of Filipinos wanting to seek a greener pasture abroad. However, Malta and the Philippines were still not able to sign a bilateral labor agreement.
