A domestic worker was arrested in Singapore after she deliberately filmed an elderly man whom she is taking care of because of TikTok.
Amex Chew, a Facebook user, took to social media to warn other FDWs in Singapore not to do the same thing and to promote proper online etiquette when sharing content with the public.
Chew also shared the video to the Singapore FDWs & Employers Support Group whom he received from a concerned member of the said Facebook group. He aims for awareness especially on the limitation of the things that should be posted online and the things that shouldn’t be posted.
The video, shows a domestic worker bathing a shirtless elderly man. As seen in the video, the domestic worker glances a couple of times at the camera which is obviously set on the side to capture the elderly man showering.
The Facebook community where the video was posted lambasted the actions of the domestic worker, noting that her actions were purely “disgusting, shameless and irresponsible.”
Mr. Chew also noted that the son of the elderly man in the video saw it and realized that it was indeed his father who was in the video.
“Let this post or incident remind and warn members not to commit such acts exposing your wards in such manner,” Mr. Chew said. “If your employer reports you to the police or MOM (Ministry of Manpower), you had better standby to pack your luggage and take the next available flight home.”
The TikTok account of the woman and the video has been taken down on Facebook.
