When you work abroad, there are times that you have to rely on your luck to land some kind-hearted employers.
We’ve all heard about Overseas Filipino Workers, especially domestic workers getting unfair treatment by their employers. They end up losing their mind, suffering from physical abuse, and worst, falling ill and losing their lives.
Another OFW in Saudi Arabia lost her life because of the abuse she suffered from her employers.
The OFW was identified as Mariz Bantilan Molia, who works as a domestic worker in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She is from Iligan City, Philippines.
According to reports, the OFW suffered from intense maltreatment by her employer, resulting in diminishing health. Eventually, the OFW passed away in a hospital in Saudi.
Meanwhile, agencies are supposed to provide help whenever the worker that they deployed are being unfairly treated. However, in the case of Molia, she suffered maltreatment but her agency failed to respond to her needs and rescue her before the worst things happen.
In a series of photos, the OFW can be seen lying in the hospital bed. She looks so weak and helpless. In another photo, she was seen lifeless and wrapped in a blue hospital blanket.
Rest in Peace, Kabayan!
