In the midst of the pandemic, people are required to take a COVID-19 vaccine to provide a level of protection against the virus. Ever since the pandemic started, people are keen to develop a vaccine that could save humanity from this deadly virus. Now that it was developed, different countries around the world are requiring its use to stop the spread of the virus.
For Overseas Filipino Workers, they need the vaccine for employment. Unfortunately, since nothing is perfect, there are people who suffered different side effects after the vaccine.
Charmie Doming was healthy and didn’t have any sorts of diseases when she got the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to Doming, she felt very weak after the vaccine. She also had pains all over her body, as though her body parts are being ripped out. Doming also vomited blood and her face got swollen.
The 27-year old OFW is from T’Boli, South Cotabato. She went to Saudi Arabia to work as a domestic worker. She felt pain after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
Doming was taken to the hospital by her employer where they drew her blood. They gave them dextrose and some medicine to stop her from vomiting blood.
But when the OFW returned home, her condition worsened.
Doming wants to return to the Philippines because of her condition. However, her employer wouldn’t allow her. According to them, they spent a lot of money to employ her. If Doming can pay them, they will allow the OFW to return to the Philippines.
Her employment agency, meanwhile, didn’t help her. The OFW sent multiple messages to her agency to ask for help but they didn’t allow her to return to the Philippines.
