Recently, a body stuffed in a suitcase was found under the Palm Island bridge in Deira.
The remains were later on identified as Analisa RL, a 32-year old from the Philippines. According to the examination conducted on the remains of the victim, she was strangled to death using a piece of cloth. The main suspect is her own Pakistani boyfriend.
The crime was committed following an argument between the couple over a financial dispute. According to reports, the Pakistani boyfriend got pissed off when the Filipina tried to ask for money to renew her visit visa. The woman has been staying with the suspect in his apartment.
The Dubai police immediately knew about the whereabouts of the suspect and he was apprehended. The Pakistani man, later on, confessed to committing the crime.
According to Renato N. Duenas, the Philippine Consul General in Dubai, they are already working closely with the local authorities and already notified the next of kin of the victim.
“The consulate is providing legal assistance to the family of the victim to ensure that all proper legal procedures are observed and that justice is served,” says Duenas.
“We wish to convey to everyone to respect the family’s request for privacy in this time of grief.”
Meanwhile, Philippine Ambassador Hjayceelyn M. Quintana said that the incident was heartbreaking. “Very sad to hear about this horrible death of our kababayan. I will reach out to the family and convey our condolences. We will closely monitor the case and make sure the family gets justice for the death of our kababayan,” she said.
