OneHealthPass serves as an important requirement when entering the Philippines amidst the pandemic. However, if you fail to comply with this requirement, you may be turned down by the airline and not be allowed to travel.
Two Filipina bound for the Philippines from Hong Kong were refused to board their flights because they were not able to register correctly their OneHealthPass.
Rhia Mateo was supposed to board her flight last Oct. via Cebu Pacific. The Filipina worked in Hong Kong for just a month before her contract was terminated by her employer. Without knowledge, she went to the airline counter hoping to board a flight to the Philippines. However, she was not well aware that she needs to register for the OneHealthPass so she can get a QR code that will be used for her travel to the Philippines. This is required before boarding a flight.
Although she managed to complete the OHP around 8:12 pm, the airline staff still refused to accommodate her because the check-in counter was already closed.
Another Filipina in the name of Rebecca Calma was also barred from boarding her flight because of OneHealthPass. The OFW was terminated from work. She also had the same fate with Mateo. Calma was not able to board her flight because of OHP and was forced to spend the night inside the airport.
This is a reminder to the returning OFWs to prepare their One Health Pass prior to their flight. This will keep you from all the troubles later on.
