An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) was found lifeless, with stab wounds in Saudi Arabia.
According to GMA News, a 32-year-old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was discovered dead in Saudi Arabia. Marjorette Garcia, a domestic servant, was named as the victim.
The fate of Marjorette is still unknown to Garcia’s family. No further information has yet to reach them.
“Hindi pa namin alam ngayon kung ano talaga kinamatay niya. Pero ang sabi nila, sinaksak daw siya. Hindi pa namin talaga alam ano ang resulta,” said the victim’s mother-in-law, Mercelita Garcia.
The last time Marjorette was able to contact her family was on September 15, 2023.
As they pursue justice for the 32-year-old OFW, her family is now requesting assistance from the government.
“Mapadali po [sana] ang pag-uwi ng labi niya, tapos yung sa hustisya niya po na nangyari sa kanya. Hanggang ngayon, wala pang alam kung anong nangyari sa kanya. [Kung] bakit pinatay po,” said Tito Garcia Jr., the victim’s husband.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), which the family has previously contacted, responded that they are working with other organisations to aid with the inquiry and bring the victim’s remains home.
“It was forwarded to us from the Central Office. We all know nga po na this is allegedly murder. The remains will undergo thorough investigation,” said OWWA-1 Post Arrival Repatriation Unit Officer Jennifer Dellosa.
Once the body arrives in the Philippines, OWWA will pay for the family’s transportation to Metro Manila so they can bring Marjorette’s remains home.
