SHARJAH- The Sharjah police arrested three Asians who were allegedly involved in human trafficking and prostitution rackets. They also arrested several of their accomplices including women.
A senior police officer stated that the Criminal Investigation Department was made aware of Asians running prostitution rings. An investigation led to the arrest of an Indian suspect who ran a brothel in conjunction with four Asian women.
The officer said, “The house was raided, and we were able to arrest both the suspect and the woman.”
In a separate incident, a Bangladeshi man was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking. “The suspect was caught while trying to sell an 8-year-old Filipina girl for Dh8,000. Five other suspects were also arrested.”
In the third case an Indian national was detained after the police received information that a flat within a residential building had been used as a prostitution ring. After completing the necessary legal procedures, a Filipina was arrested and a Sri Lankan.
The suspects have been detained and are being referred to the Public Prosecution.
